The Transitional Council: What We Do

The mandate of the new College, once fully operational, will be to regulate Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Mental Health Therapists in the public interest, striving to ensure that practitioners are competent, ethical and accountable.  Once the Psychotherapy Act is proclaimed and the College is functioning, some members of the governing Council (a small majority) will be elected by College members, and others will be appointed by government.

Committee In Action

The Council has established three committees, which meet regularly throughout the year.  Committee meetings are not open to observers; however, regular updates will be posted on this site to inform members of the profession, the public and other stakeholders about the transitional Council’s activities and progress.
